Carmit is the author of a novel, Consider the Feast and Burnt Bread and Chutney: Growing Up Between Cultures, A Memoir of an Indian Jewish Girl (Ballantine), a School Library Journal Winner. Her writing is included in W.W. Norton’s Mixed: An Anthology of Fiction on the Multiracial Experience, and numerous print and online publications. With an MFA in Creative Writing and a BA in Literature and Anthropology, she teaches creative writing across the spectrum and speaks widely at literary events.
